Today, I am going to give you the secret to achieving your weight loss goals. It is very simple and we all know it, but we choose to not listen. The rule is simple, if you know it is healthy for you then eat it, and vice versa.Don't get me wrong, I love having a slice of pizza from time to time, but I understand that the slice of pizza is not going to help me reach my goals. I don't try to lie and convince myself that the pizza is healthy. I am making a conscious decision to eat and enjoy that food. The same goes for alcohol. Alcohol is not necessary to live, your body can function perfectly fine without it. However, I have my fair share of drinks because I enjoy it. I look at  the pro's and cons, I determine what will make me happiest the next day. I don't go out and drink every night because that is not realistic. That is not my idea of happiness, but once in awhile I like to have a good time. I am not worried about how many calories I am consuming, all I am worried about is having fun and enjoying my life. Exercising and dieting should not take over your life, they should be enhancing your life. Your diet should make you happier. You don't want to be the guy who sits at home and doesn't go out because it doesn't fit in your paleo lifestyle.

  Remember, we are social creatures, we need to interact with human beings. We need to experience laughter, camaraderie, and build relationships. This world will beat you down if you try to take it on yourself. Don't let some diet make you miss out on this. It is true, we do only live once. I believe we should live it to the fullest. We should love to the fullest. Laugh to the fullest . Push ourselves to the fullest. To do this you must  understand every choice you make. For instance, when you go out to eat, consciously tell yourself you are going out to eat to have fun with your friends. Whatever happens that night is okay, because the next five days you are  back to your goals. The opposite can also be achieved, if you are going out with your friends make the right decision and choose the healthier option.  I want you to be aware of every decision you are making. You need to be conscious of each choice you make and not on auto pilot. I want you to realize that the food you eat is the best supplement you could ever ask for. Our food is meant to supplement and enhance our life. When you constantly choose food that is low in nutrients and high in sugar you are doing your body harm. These types of food serve no benefit to your physical health. Yes, every so often they are good to have, but when you have them, be aware of how they make you feel. Enjoy every single bite, chew slowly and appreciate the treat you are having.

Use the following foods to supplement your body.


  1. Any type of berry ( blue, straw, black, rasp)
  2. Green tea
  3. Avocados
  4. Black decaf coffee
  5. Coconut oil, avocado oil, grapeseed olive, olive oil- don’t cook with past 300 degrees!
  6. Almonds, cashews, pistachios, pecans
  7. Kale, spinach, chard
  8. Free range eggs ( eat the whole egg, not the shell =] )
  9. garlic
  10. Salmon
  11. Sardines
  12. Grass fed beef
  13. Antibiotic free chicken
  14. Cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, aka VEGGIES!! ( I buy the steam bags, 1.19$ per pound frozen )
  15. Nitrate free bacon ( bacon and eggs is a perfect breakfast) Remember breakfast is whenever you break your fast, so it can be whenever
  16. Potatoes ( sweet, purple, white )

  18. Almond/ coconut milk
  19. Brown rice, quinoa, Sprouted whole grains, any fiber rich grains!

Give your body the right supplements and you will achieve any goal you have. When you see food, understand that it is there to make your life better. Remember, it is okay to splurge and enjoy a meal but be conscious of that decision. Don't lie and tell yourself that the burger from Burger King is healthy. Once you understand that food is your best supplement it is much easier to stick to your new healthy lifestyle.
